All that's new for golfers!
The 2008 PGA Merchandise still looms large in our rear view mirror but it is time to move forward before getting too far behind! But, we're not quite ready to put the show behind us quite yet; not before letting you in on some of the highlights and really great finds.

For more than 6,000 PGA professionals the show begins on Wednesday at the day-long Demo Day that is hosted by Orange County National Golf Club on its enormous 42-acre practice facility. This is perhaps the single best facility to host such an event that is roughly a full mile in circumference, including tee, putting and chipping areas. This is by far the best opportunity to actually test out new equipment presented by hundreds of different vendors.

Another item we came across that can benefit all golfers regardless of skill level was another rather simple yet intricate device known as the Xtensor. This device was developed by a Scott Kupferman, clinical rehabilitative specialist, to specifically work on strengthening the extensor muscle group located in the wrists, hands, forearms and elbows. Scott explained to us that without proper conditioning of the extensor muscles and tendons, even the most innocent activities can lead to severe problems. The Xtensor is a conditioning tool that can help prevent these with proper, regular usage. Hand and wrist strength in the extensor region is often overlooked as a key to success in many sports. This is device fits perfectly into your hand and with repeated use for about 2 minutes a day you will not only strengthen the extensor muscle group but it will help prevent tennis/golf elbow, improve manual dexterity and generally make your hands feel and function better. We highly recommend you look into the product if you have arthritis, too.

We could go on for days with all the great new products and services offered at the 2008 edition of the PGA Show. There are acres of ideas and inventions that cover the spectrum. It is quite unbelievable to see all the new concepts being brought to market. Just when you think you have seen it all… it's time for another show and more ideas and inventions.

Until next year, we wish you straighter, longer drives and more putts in the bottom of the cup!

And, remember to check back with Georgia Fairways as we review more products we discovered during the PGA Show 2008.
